A police appeal has been issued after a brutal attack outside a pub left a man with a triple jaw fracture.

The incident, which took place in Great Barr, left the 37-year-old victim requiring emergency hospital treatment.

Police say the assault took place on Wednesday, July 26.

The victim was leaving the Old Horns, opposite Asda Queslett, when the unprovoked attack took place at around 10.45pm.

He would later take himself to hospital for treatment, before reporting the vicious attack to police, reports the Great Barr Observer.

The man, who was in considerable pain, took himself to hospital before reporting the incident to police.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Officers believe the suspect may have stayed drinking in the local area for some time.

"Information given may lead to a reward of up to £1,000."
