A teenager has been arrested for carrying a knife after a fight broke out outside a popular McDonald's restaurant in Kingstanding.

The 14-year-old was detained by officers near McDonald's on College Road on Thursday evening (September 7), reports the Great Barr Observer .

There were six police cars, including two undercover vehicles, at the scene, according to witnesses.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed reports and said an investigation was ongoing.

He said: "Two response officers and a dog handler were dispatched to the College Road McDonald's, Kingstanding, at 6.55pm on Thursday following reports of a fight.

"A 14-year-old boy was found in possession of a knife. The weapon was seized and the teenager was subsequently arrested.

"He has since been released pending further investigation."
